I love how flexible my schedule is. It is perfect for a student who is figuring out what they want to do in the future, while having steady income. There is also tuition assistance through UPS, which is greatly appreciated.
What I wish was different
I wish I didn't have to work on Saturdays.
Advice
The job is amazing and not too demanding. Take it one day at a time and allow yourself to learn something new everyday when interacting with customers.

What I liked
What I like about UPS is that it's a highly active job, benefits, and opportunities to try out different specific jobs. It is also nice being a part of a union.
What I wish was different
Sometimes the hours can differentiate and while I'm doing school full time this can hurt my sleep schedule, but other than that I feel as if I've adjusted to the physical demands of the job.
Advice
It's not a bad place to work if you favor benefits. It can be physically demanding/exhausting, particularly in the summer and around Christmas. But it's worth thinking about.

Hard work. Used my hands and you get a nice sweat in for the day.
What I wish was different
Nothing, it was a good summer job to keep me active and busy.
Advice
Doing a simple summer job is a good way to take a break from the hardcore academics you put yourself through the school year and still make some pocket cash.

ISM Intern
June 2019 • Timonium, MD
What I liked
This was my second time coming back but the experience was more surreal the second time then the first. I was able to meet new people and experience more. I even participated in a hackathon with 3 other people which we ended winning.
What I wish was different
The onboarding process and week was a bit slow and it took way to long for us to find out what our assignments were.
Advice
Always put your best foot forward and know when to ask for help.
Never get to bogged down by small things because they will only hinder your ability to stay productive.
Never be afraid to ask questions to clarify your understanding of something. Understanding things faster the first time is much more efficient then trying to understand it later down the road where you are stuck and can't explain your issue or what you are doing.

What I liked
The number one thing I enjoy about the job is how fast paced it is which makes the shifts go by very quickly. Also the greatest perk is they offer tuition assistance.
What I wish was different
Things could be more organized. The work could also be divided more evenly.
Advice
The biggest piece of advice I’d give is to fight through the initial lower level position. UPS likes to hire from within and you could already have vacation time and benefits accumulated before you start your new position after graduation.

Flight Operations Intern
June 2019 • Louisville, KY
What I liked
The experience at UPS has been amazing. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help you develop your skills. Every intern gets to go through the same training as the new hired pilots. We get checked out in the sims and are taught how to operate them in order to give customer tours. We are also allowed to jumpseat on UPS aircraft and observe the operation first hand.
What I wish was different
I have no complaints or anything I wish was different. The program gets the interns involved with the day to day operations of a major airline.
Advice
Talk to everybody, be yourself, and never say no to new opportunities.

What I liked
Early hours made it so I could work my other job during the day or if I had the day off I could do whatever I wanted. I also had a lot of friends working there and it was an informal environment so that was a lot of fun. Lots of physical labor
What I wish was different
The hours. I didnt like them but I also liked them at the same time.
Advice
Attitude is everything. It is difficult to make yourself get up that early every day and once you get there it is difficult to have a good attitude, but when you discipline yourself to have a positive attitude about your job and what youre doing it makes it much more enjoyable

I liked working with a people whom I really enjoyed being with to accomplish a tough task of making our number in a set amount of time.

I wish the overall atmosphere was better, i.e. the physical and culture. The warehouse conditions were tough to adjust to and many people acted very negatively which was hard to work through.
Advice
Overall, I love UPS and would recommend it to anyone who is good at following directions and in the shape to do rigorous physical activity.
