What I liked
My intern experience at Boeing was amazing. I have had three other past internships, and while I learned a ton at all of them, Boeing blew them all out of the water. I worked in my hometown of St. Louis Missouri as part of Boeing Research and Technology. My team was called Next Generation Metals Technology, and our goal was to develop brand new technologies and processes in metal alloy development, additive manufacturing, metal machining, and other advanced manufacturing methods. I worked primarily with the machining team, designing and conducting tests and collecting data to develop a new titanium machining process that would dramatically reduce machine runtimes. I worked on several other projects as well, requiring skills in design, manufacturing, data acquisition and analysis, and metallurgy. My favorite part of the internship was my team, which was full of amazing people who welcomed me and helped me every step of the way. Boeing also offered many intern experiences including tours of different labs and production lines on the St. Louis campus, networking events, and social events.
