Photography Internship at Sleepaway Camp

Camp North Star is hiring Photography interns to join our TEAM for the 2025 camp season.

Camp North Star is a premier sleepaway camp in Poland Spring, Maine. We are looking to hire motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced interns for the 2025 camp season. The compensation includes all living and food expenses. This position is ideal for college students and recent college graduates.

We are seeking interns who have:

• Sharp instincts for capturing human emotion

• Strong interest in connecting with others and being part of a community

• Experience with adventure and/or sports photography

• Strong communication & organizational skills

• A positive attitude and a drive to complete work quickly and efficiently on daily deadlines

• Social-media savvy

• Experience using photo editing software and DSLR cameras

• Highly developed time management skills in order to complete tasks to meet deadlines

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task as you will be completing multiple projects at once

Overview of Position -

Photographers capture photos throughout the camps for our social media platforms and marketing campaigns as well as our online photo gallery. The position involves following the daily schedule throughout the day and taking photos of all activities. Some photos are candids, some are posed, and some are action shots. Camper activities include sports, arts, outdoors, and the waterfront. Good organizational skills are necessary to properly catalog all photographs.

Ideally, we are also looking for candidates who are interested in teaching 1 - 2 periods a day of digital photography classes to our campers, ages 7 - 17. Under the guidance of our Program Director, you will follow a curriculum designed to introduce digital photography and design while sparking our campers' creativity.
