What I liked
I enjoyed the culture at Yale. Although this was remote, everyone I worked with made sure I felt included in the Yale family. They valued the importance of learning, so I was constantly learning new things and meeting new people.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have had an in person experience. I would have liked to be in the office and see these people face to face.
Advice
I think it's important to remember that employers want to hire people who are eager to learn. As long as you show passion and interest, these characteristics may be more important that technical skills.

Very accessible, great time working with my Principle Investigator as well as other research assistants.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been more clarity on what my purpose was. As well, parking permits should be paid by the University or lab.

I worked on my most favorite subject, neurobiology. That was my favorite part.
What I wish was different
I wish there was no fee to apply for CPT at NYIT. I did receive a stipend of $1005 but I ended up paying $1200 for CPT.
Advice
Research is interesting, but it is also very detail-oriented.

What I liked
Lots of agency in terms of work at the lab; research assistants helped with existing projects and helped develop/implement new projects.
What I wish was different
I wish that the internship had involved more interaction with people (subjects, families).
Advice
This experience was wonderful, however there was a lot of time spent in the lab working on individual projects. This position definitely requires a lot of self-motivation and drive.

I was able to delve into doing research full-time. It helped me prepare for what it would be like in graduate school. I also got exposed to a lot of different research projects and all the work that came with it.

I would have liked to work longer and be able to follow through on the project I worked on.
