The lab environment was friendly and welcoming to a beginner - I was treated as a full lab member and all the things I’ve learned I’m applying to my new lab.
What I wish was different
I wish I got to have a bit more time to develop more independent projects and understood what I was working on more deeply! The lab moved to Harvard in the fall. But I’m still keeping in touch with them and still working in the same field, so overall an experience I wouldn’t trade.
Advice
Clear communication is central to planning when everyone is busy with their own projects! Also, build good relationships with the other members - they are your mentors and advocates.
