Advice
Apply to any and all positions even if they are only maybes. A lot of people have fear of applying when they don’t seem like a perfect match which lowers the competition. Even if all you get is an interview, the most comfortable eye-opening experience when looking for a job is partaking in an interview for a job that you do not expect you are going to get. You’ll surprise yourself at how much better you do and comfortable you are in interviews.

Everyone in the Student Financial is super nice and amazing to work with. I was able to learn so much from them while working there.
What I wish was different
Honestly my experience was amazing and I am so glad I was able to work there.
Advice
Ask questions if you're ever confused about anything. It is better to ask a lot of questions than to give someone misinformation - especially regarding their financial aid.

OneCard Technician
June - November 2018 • San Francisco, CA
What I liked
I liked that it was somewhat independent - after I was trained on the basics, I had the freedom to handle jobs and tickets as I wished.
What I wish was different
I wish that I'd learned more about OneCard Tech from Whit, my first boss that left abruptly in the summer. When he left, he took a lot of knowledge with him and I wish there had been a heads up or a binder to pass on/flip through.
Advice
Stay dedicated- even though tickets don't come in all the time during the school year, they're still relevant and signal the fact that someone needs help.

June 2018 • San Francisco, CA
What I liked
I loved the freedom I had, the support of my supervisor and the ability to be creative and precise. I also loved the atmosphere of the Rossi wing and enjoyed the job responsibilities.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have had a little more time for training from the other intern and . my supervisor before things got super busy.
Advice
This experience is an ongoing living-learning position and requires extreme attention to detail and the ability to come up with ideas on the spot (creative ideas).
