The atmosphere to be nicer and less gossipy and mean. Everyone was trying to get at everyone and there was always drama.

What I liked
The entire experience was really enjoyable. Being able to make connections with the keepers and professional staff around the zoo was a highlight of this experience. I also enjoyed the research observations and being able to put the animal's behaviors into words and think of causes to aide the keepers in their routine care for the animals.
What I wish was different
Organization rules prohibit volunteers and interns from entering any animal area. While this did not take away from the experience, this definitely would've created a more unique and special experience.
Advice
They emphasize creativity and critical thinking. Go in to this experience with an open mind and don't be afraid to try new things. Good communication is also a crucial piece of this experience.

I liked going around the zoo, seeing all the animals and being behind the scenes. I also loved working in the greenhouse/conservatory area.

I loved the people that I worked with. The hours were also very manageable and flexible.
What I wish was different
I wish the guests would be more compliant to the safety rules and were more polite, especially on free mondays.
Advice
Learn to be confident in your speaking skills and dealing with guests. The more comfortable you feel, the more fun the job will be.
