Technical Analyst

June - August 2019 • Appleton, WI

What I liked

I liked the work I was doing, as it provided me an insight into how to work cross functionally in different teams. I liked that I had 3 projects during my time, which were quite different from the other. It was amazing to learn from different leaders and communicate my opinions that made a business impact!

What I wish was different

I wish the work culture was a bit more open minded to new decisions.

Advice

Tackle projects one at a time, not thinking about the consequences but the process. Interns should ask more questions, to get the most out their limited time. Understanding the way the corporate makes decisions will give interns an insight into how fast and effective their work can be.

Member Services Intern

May - August 2018 • Appleton, WI

What I liked

I liked how large the company is and how I was able to experience what the everyday life is like at a fortune 500 company. You get to see everything at a much larger scale which is an experience that most college kids don't experience while they attend college. It can really help someone get a good job out of college.

What I wish was different

I wish I would been able to be more involved in the actual financial statements. It's very hard to get involved in a different department. You get locked in at the member services area.

Advice

I would say make sure you walk in on the first day and explain exactly what you want to do. You need to be nice and listen to your manager but never be afraid to challenge the work you give you and ask for something hard. Or just ask for work that you find interesting.

Marketing Analysis Intern

May - August 2018 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

Very welcoming work environment. People always took the time to help me out when I was stuck, and I had plenty of time to decide how I would like to address my assigned projects. They have a full internship program as well, so I was able to meet many interns.

What I wish was different

Ability to learn more about different departments

Advice

Do not be shy to ask for help if you are stuck, and do not be frustrated if it takes you a while to figure out how to address your project.

Member Services Intern

May - August 2018 • Appleton, WI

What I liked

I really liked the flexibility of my internship to turn it into what I wanted it to be. I got to work hands on with tools that I hope to use in the future and learned a lot about how a business works.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more of a team structure because I worked independently for most of the internship.

Advice

Keep meeting new people and learning about different career opportunities in this field.

Member Services Intern

May - August 2018 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

I like how the program was designed to get interns excited and engaged in the ongoings of the company. There were a lot of opportunities to network, especially with Senior leaders. The company is always striving to better improve their intern program to ensure that interns not only walk away with the best experience but would want to continue working for the company.

What I wish was different

More opportunities to learn from different departments in the company

Advice

Don't just offer solutions to your employer but rather think about the root cause of the problems. KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!

Marketing Intern

June - August 2018 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

Great company culture; young, enjoyable team that was open to new ideas and emphasized a healthy work-life balance. Fridays were work from home. Good responsibility granted for taking independent initiative on projects; openness to creativity and new ideas

What I wish was different

Wish I had asked for more feedback and critique; didn't receive much dedicated time for feedback from manager (also didn't ask enough, to be fair).

Advice

Great place to begin professional career due to strong internship programming; ability to meet with many different employees (encouraged and expected) at your discretion. Option to try a little bit of everything
