The program was a fantastic opportunity to intern within a government agency, all the while being exposed to the work of real public servants. The FLIPS program empowers its participants to be engaged in the Federal Government and connect with other public servants.
What I wish was different
The timeline could have been pushed up a little. Meaning, I did not receive a final offer until less than a month before my start date. Additionally, I did not have a clear understanding of my role at the assigned agency until only weeks before. The communication, generally speaking, could be improved
Advice
I would encourage all participants to make the most of the professional development opportunities offered by the Partnership. In particular, the networking sessions with current public servants were extremely valuable spaces.

What I liked
The intern program was very structured, and I enjoyed learning from individuals from different backgrounds. It was also helpful in allowing me to learn more about federal agencies and leadership development. Overall, it was a very comprehensive and multidimensional internship.
What I wish was different
Sometimes the work was a bit administrative, so I would have liked to have a more hands-on role in some of the HR consulting projects.
Advice
If you are interested in learning more about the federal government, definitely take a look at this internship, as it is really helpful in helping you learn and grow.

What I liked
The corporate culture at the Partnership is fantastic. It was amazing to work in a place that had all levels of employees seated next to each other and interacting on a daily basis. The work that I did had purpose and I saw the results of what I was doing in the programs I worked on.
