It was incredible to see the work being done to promote national security. Everyone was so clearly proud of what they were doing and it gave me a renewed excitement for my prospects after graduation.
What I wish was different
Likely due to regulation and oversight, nothing was happening very quickly. Additionally, the scope of work being done at various facilities was incredibly large. As such, it seemed like during my time there I only saw a small glimpse of the whole picture.
Advice
One thing that was heavily stressed was to seek out what interests you. This is easier said than done. However, every time I reached out to people and showed interest in various research and experiments it led to a great experience.
