What I liked

I enjoyed the being assigned projects in which I had to perform mechanical and chemical testing for basic physical properties on materials. I also enjoyed writing standard operating procedures for test methods. The combination of testing and writing procedures has helped me gain a comprehensive understanding of how third-party material testing works and why standards are used in industry.

What I wish was different

Advice

One piece of advice I would share is to not be afraid to ask for help, whether it be relating to a project, standard, or any assignment. All the employees and technicians are friendly and willing to share their knowledge and experience to help. It's important to understand test methods and standards before performing them in order to meet requirements and ensure consistency.
