May - August 2019 • Springfield, MO
What I liked
I like the hands on experience I had working with incoming students. I also got trained as a peer advisor and became knowledgeable about the university.

Advice
If you have the opportunity to become a SOAR leader DO IT! It was the best and most life changing experience ever. I learn so much about myself and how to apply my skills to difficult situations. SOAR Leader
June - August 2019 • Springfield, MO
What I liked
I really enjoyed being the first face new students would see when coming to Missouri State and helping them become acclimated to college life. It's nice knowing that you are such an influential part in the biggest transition of their life and making sure they feel comfortable here while also getting them excited to be here.
What I wish was different
There isn't anything major that I would change other than a couple minor things to do with the office that runs SOAR. It was a very good summer job and it was ran very smoothly for how big of a program it is.
Advice
Have an open mind as you are going to meet many different kinds of people between the students and the SOAR team. The more open you are to meeting and getting to know different kinds of people, the more educated and well rounded person you will become.
