Everyone I worked with was nice and helpful. They had a cool internship event in Des Moines, and you get the opportunity to climb one of their wind turbines if you want. (You get paid for both events). I generally felt like I got good experience about what it could be like working in the energy industry. They also pay pretty well for an internship.
What I wish was different
I wasn't always given enough work to do, it could get really boring a lot of the time.
Advice
Make sure to ask about what work you'll be doing as an intern. It's a big company so there are a lot of different places you could be working, and you could be doing different things.

What I liked
I really liked the atmosphere at MidAmerican. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I really liked the job I did and the boss that I worked for. Everyone there was willing to help me when I needed it.
What I wish was different
I wish that I would have been able to move around more. I was always at a desk doing work reports or something. So, I wish I could have been active more.
Advice
I would say that if you have an opportunity to get an internship always go for it. You never know if you’ll like the company or even that type of job, but you’ll never know until you try.
