What I liked
Working with a team of physicians and medical students in a trauma lab, learning about lab and medical techniques such as Western blot and arterial blood gases, using past data to begin writing a medical paper, working daily.

What I liked
Learning more about science, applying knowledge to laboratory techniques and driving a research project, collaborating with outstanding faculty and mentors in the Pharmacology field

Better direct mentorship within my laboratory
Advice
Do not be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes when working in a research setting. You may feel overwhelmed by the level of knowledge around you but keep in mind that it's a learning process and you will learn much more effectively if you make every active effort to move forward.
