About Maryland Department of Health

MDH has five major divisions - Public Health Services, Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities, Health Care Financing, and Operations. In addition, the department has 20 boards that license and regulate health care professionals; and various commissions that issue grants, and research and make recommendations on issues that affect Maryland’s health care delivery system. We depend on a staff of more than 9,000 and a budget of more than $12 billion to provide needed services to Maryland communities.

Reviews

Biology Laboratory Assistant

June 2018 - August 2018 Baltimore, MD
“The atmosphere was extremely friendly and the lab environment was top of the line and updated! Everyone was very friendly and supportive. This job required a lot of repetition and unsupervised, independent work. I worked with 1 other intern. The hours were the night shift, so 3pm-9pm (so you can still enjoy the summertime and go to the pool!). The facilities have 24/7 guards that even walk you to your car at night to assure your safety.”

Water Microbiology Lab Technician

July 2018 - August 2018 Baltimore, MD
“The atmosphere was extremely welcome and friendly. Everyone was helpful and patient in teaching me how to analyze fecal coliforms. Working in the lab was very busy, but there was also free time to work on writing papers and/or reading for pleasure.”
