Working in a leadership position with kids was both very difficult and very rewarding.
What I wish was different
Camp food was awful. Pay sucked.
Advice
It's easy to drive yourself into a careerist rut where you do nothing for yourself or for others that doesn't drive yourself towards your intended career goals. I learned more about myself and about life in this job which has little to nothing to do with my personal goals than I ever could in an internship. Take these opportunities.

Advice
If anyone is unsure of what they want to do over the summer/ don’t want to commit to a part time job because it’s “too stressful”, then being a camp counselor is what you should go for. It is so unbelievably rewarding watching kids grow and learn and giving them a piece of life that they might not get from an extra week at home.
