My co-workers, the gym is very nice and we get a free membership, free classes, and the pay is good

What I wish was different

Management is not always competent and very hard to find coverage. The hiring process is very long and tedious and getting a raise is almost impossible

Advice

Fight for higher pay and do not let management walk all over you and disregarding your availability

I wish the training process would have been shorter due to the short seasonal work.

I would suggest accumulating as many hours as possible during the summer because once you start school your schedule is limited.

Assistant Swim Coach

What I liked

Love working with kids - teenagers and watching them progress as swimmers throughout the season. Getting to know each child and their families was so much fun and I learned a lot about stepping up in a position when you're needed to and communication between those in charge and large groups.

What I wish was different

I wish the Head Coach wasn't new this year and had had more experience working with this team like I had. I wish the Head Coach had been more capable in terms of communicating to parents and planning team events.

Advice

If you don't like the way a situation has been or is being handled, speak up about it. The worst thing that can happen is that your advice isn't taken, but at least your concern has been expressed.

What I liked

I loved working with such a productive company. I truly learned how to treat the members with kindness, respect and compassion, meanwhile delivering exceptional and compelling service. I also enjoyed watching over the safety if the members in regards to pool deck rules. Me and all my best buddies worked there as well, and all worked out after our shifts. This place was more than just a job, it was a centerplace of hardwork, more hardwork, fun, and relaxation for my group of friends.

What I wish was different

I wish I got paid more with this job. It has been my favorite job so far, but the only downside is the pay.

Advice

I would share how I have mentally grown and matured with this company in 2 years and that finding a place congruent to your ideals is how you will enjoy your job, enjoy making money, and living a healthy lifestyle framed around the workplace.
