For people who are looking to go into an education career, being a camp counselor gives you great experience that you need. I was able to gain experience and knowledge by working with kids for 5 days a week the entire summer.

Lead Camp Counselor

What I liked

The benefits this job was offering such as the differing expierences of interacting with the children through rockwall, swimming, paid field trip activities as well as offering paid first aid/CPR courses and a paid membership to their gym.

What I wish was different

There were little improvements of the daily work life that can be amended to make sure the day's work was an easy flow in interacting with the children and parents.

Advice

To make this job even better, one has to be extremely openminded and not afraid to act a like child in order to connect with the children and make their school breaks better.

Summer Camp Supervisor

What I liked

I loved the creativity and determination this position required. I was able to grow with the campers and the staff throughout the summer and improve the experience for all involved. I loved interacting with the kids on a daily basis and having a hands-on experience. It was a learning opportunity to hire, train, and manage a staff of 25 counselors, and a unique experience to learn from others.

What I wish was different

This position will vary in intensity depending on the managers and co-workers of the position. It most definitely will make or break the experience depending on who is supporting you.

Advice

It is a great opportunity to spend the summer with kids, swimming, playing, crafting, and reading. It was an excellent way to grow as a leader and individual.

I wish I would have known earlier about a job opportunity post-grad, as I won't know until later this year.

What I liked

Working for the company was an amazing experience because everyone valued each others team work. We had employees in all different types of fields ranging from sales people to spa workers and everyone was appreciative of the hard work we put in.

What I wish was different

I wish I had worked more. I had other obligations during the summer which required me to take two weeks off from working at Lifetime. I wish I could have been working that entire time because I looked forward to coming into work.

Advice

Always make sure you stay professional even if you're working in the kids camp with screaming children. Working for the company as a whole says a lot about your work ethic and being able to represent such an amazing company is a great experience.

I like working for lifetime because it is a job that is flexible with my school schedule and the people are really good there. Its a job where I don't dread going to work when i have to and the shifts usually go by pretty fast cause you are always moving.

This job teaches you in a way to have time management because you have to know the right times for busy time and when you need to go complete your duties.
