Summer Researcher

What I liked

For starters, everything was paid for. You was able to speak with doctors and current medical school students. There were some mcat prep sessions and you were able to set up shadowing opportunities. You also gain experience in a wet lab or clinical setting. Overall great 10 week program, something I would definitely consider doing again.

What I wish was different

I wish my time in the lab was longer because I was unable to complete a very important step in my experiment. Also the stipend could have been a bit larger.

Advice

Take advantage of everything given to you. There will be plenty of free time on your hands so what you do what that time is up to you.

The health and medical environment offerred is exactly what I wish to immerse myself in. The staff and patients are always great and fun.

A little more responsiblity and duty available to the volunteers.

Build relationships with everyone at the hospital.
