The people at Humana were wonderful to work with. I came into the internship not knowing much technically, but they were very supportive and helpful throughout the entire experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have gotten to work on a team with other interns. I had to work alone, which was not ideal.
Advice
Humana is a great place to work at. I would encourage anyone that works there to reach out and not be shy while there. Make it the best learning experience you can!

They provided housing in apartments in the Galt House Hotel, which is attached to where most of the IT Interns worked. Interns work on a project with other interns during the 12 weeks.

What I liked
They help you develop technically and professionally. I came in with little to no computer skills and without experience working in an office and now I am extremely confident in my skills as an analyst.
What I wish was different
I wish the hours were more flexible so I could do four ten-hour shifts instead of five eight-hour days, but it was more just a personal preference.

Stay true to yourself and let the right company find you.

What I liked
Outstanding internship program. Plenty of opportunities to gain exposure to executive-level leadership within the company. The coordinators of the internship put a lot of events together which focus on bettering yourself as a leader and young business professional.
What I wish was different
More integration between the actuarial interns and the actuarial students (full-time employees taking exams)
Advice
Take advantage of all the networking opportunities. There are plenty of ways to get involved within the company, such as resource groups, that are often overlooked as an intern.

The environment was awesome. The internship consisted of 16 students, where although on seperate teams, we still got to see each other on a day to day basis.
What I wish was different
More structure in our project, and a better description of our project.
Advice
Don't be afraid to try new things and fail. Also, be sure to reach out. People are always willing to help.
