I love Her Campus Magazine. I have been the President of Her Campus for two years now and this semester I completed it for internship credit. I helped manage a staff for the digital magazine as well as helping recruit, write articles, post on social media, and finance. I got a lot of experience with writing and editing as well as promotion and team management.
What I wish was different
I wish that it was paid.

Absolutely do it because you can make it into anything that you want and write about your own passions.

What I liked
I loved the dynamic of the company, it is such a creative, open and friendly environment with so much to learn.
What I wish was different
The internship was remote due to COVID-19, I would have loved to see the office.
Advice
Be ready to learn! This internship was so insightful because I continued to ask how I could help or what I can sit in on. There are multiple projects to work on at all times definitely take advantage of networking with each person!

What I liked
I was able to have a lot of freedom to test out different strategies and ideas on their platforms. I also had the ability to experience other areas of the company that I did not intern in through group projects and collaborations.

What I liked
I like that I can do it from my own computer and on my own time. That doesn't make it any less work, it just makes it easier for me to do my best work.

I guess if there was one thing I would change it would be to make it more involved in my life, maybe add on some new tasks.
Advice
Don't be scared to reach out - opportunities are everywhere; you just have to find them.
