What I liked
The part that I liked the most about this job was being able to meet and interact with so many people that have different backgrounds not just by their nationality but the way they grew up and the things that they have done to get to where they are at now.
What I wish was different
I wish that I would be able to do this for more than just a year because this is an opportunity like none other, so I had to maximize the time I have in this position at the university.
Advice
One piece of advice that I would share with someone who wants to embark on this journey would be to definitely keep an open mind and have patience because you have to deal with a lot of people at a time, and sometimes things get tough, but you have to keep in mind the reason you applied to do this in the first place.

Psychologist Research Assistant
May 2017 - August 2018 • Miami, FL
What I liked
I liked the sense of being part of a team and knowing that every task I completed was going to help the lab. My supervisor was very kind and flexible with the Research assistants but I also learned a lot from her. The other RA's and my supervisor became very good friends of mine and given the right timing I would most definitely be a part of that lab again. I learned organizational skills, professional etiquette, and obviously a lot of information about the topics we were researching in psychology.
What I wish was different
Nothing I had a very pleasant experience.
Advice
I encourage anyone in the field of psychology who is considering to continue their higher education into a graduate degree to volunteer/intern for a psychology lab as early as their second year in college. It's a wonderful experience to participate in research studies and possibly collaborating with graduate students to create posters and present them at conferences. It also is a great way to attain some recommendation letters for when you apply to grad school.
