Corporate Finance Advisory Intern

What I liked

I really liked the culture of the firm, the team that I was on is on the smaller side, but I worked with directors and partners. That type of experience is something that I benefitted a lot from, I was able to learn more from experienced professionals of EisnerAmper.

What I wish was different

Nothing particular with the internship, just wished I can have an even longer internship because of how great it was!

Advice

Don't hesitate to reach out to anyone at the firm. It was truly amazing to meet so many people and it came from not being scared to reach out.

I loved how helpful all of the seniors and experienced workers within the firm were. Whenever I had a question someone was always open to walking me through the issue. Additionally, everyone was very inclusive of the interns, we were always included to company events.

What I wish was different

I wish we had a little more time for our onboarding, it felt as if I was cramming the learning videos.

PCS Tax Intern

January 2025 • New York, NY

What I liked

I really like how supportive and friendly everyone is at the company. People are easy to talk to and always willing to help, which makes it easier for me to learn and ask questions. I am glad I get to work on real tasks and build my skills. The work environment feels welcoming, and I feel like my work matters. Overall, it's been a great experience that's helping me grow and learn more about the field.

What I wish was different

I'm really enjoying my experience, and I don't have anything to change. Everything, from the people to work, is going great. If I had to mention something, I'd just say having more time to learn and contribute would be nice, because I truly enjoy being part of the team.

Advice

One piece of advice I'd share is not to be afraid to ask questions and take initiative. This experience has shown me how much you can learn just by being curious and getting involved. People are always happy to help, and you grow so much more when you step out of your comfort zone.

What I liked

The opportunity to gain hands-on experience in auditing, including working with financial statements and understanding real world, applications of accounting principles.

What I wish was different

Honestly, I had a great experience and felt well-supported throughout my internship. The team provided valuable guidance, and I appreciated the variety of tasks I was given.

Commercial Audit Intern

January - April 2025 • Iselin, NJ

What I liked

Everyone was very understanding and helpful when it came to tasks as well as school obligations. I loved how flexible the job was with my schedule and with it being a hybrid internship. Everyone was open to talking about their experience in accounting and were extremely helpful with information regarding the CPA exam.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was more task volume. There is a lot of open time and the tasks I was assigned did not take up most of the time. It would also be easier to understand the importance of certain audit procedures if there was some repetition of those tasks.

Advice

Be proactive and do not wait for someone else to tell you what you should be doing. Communicate any confusion you may have and make sure to communicate with your peers and your managers/audit team at all times about everything. Do not be afraid to get involved with extra opportunities within the office and/or other audit teams. You learn a lot more through listening and watching rather than doing during the internship, so make sure to take notes and review them.

Accountant Intern

January - April 2025 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

This was my first internship, and they really value the interns and don't just hand out meaningless work. You also get to see the audit process from start to finish. Everyone in the office is more than happy to help answer your questions and give you feedback. It was all around a great learning experience.

What I wish was different

The only thing I would change is I'd like it to be a little longer so I can see what kind of work gets done during non-busy season hours.

Advice

I think the best piece of advice would be just going into your first day ready to learn and being patient with yourself because it is a lot of information all at once.

Forensic, Litigation, and Valuation Services Intern

June 2024 • Baton Rouge, LA

What I liked

Culture: The culture at the firm is wonderful. People, regardless of rank, have been very supportive and generous with their help and time. There's been an abundance of resources available to me for learning and support. If you're looking to intern during a semester, management is incredibly understanding about your status as a student and respectful of your hours. Everyone is very respectful in general, actually. Work: You perform work similar to what a new staff member would do. It's real experience and a great way to see what a career in this field would be like. There's a lot of variety between tasks, with every case being different and posing new questions. It's been a great balance between new challenges and familiar trends.

What I wish was different

Advice

Ask questions! You're here to learn, and your coworkers are happy to teach. Take advantage of your assigned staff members. Take note of whatever feedback you're given and apply it going forward.

Audit intern

June - July 2024 • West Palm Beach, FL

What I liked

As I finish the process, I appreciate how much the staff have taught me during the 8 weeks. My role as Audit Intern has taught me so much about public accounting and the different ways people find their careers in this industry. The Intern buddy system guided me throughout a majority of my internship. Having buddies to ask professional, career and work questions along my internship helped immensely. Being a student at UF, many accounting recruiters stress the importance of family in the workplace. EisnerAmper really showed me what that means to them and am thankful to those who I have worked with.

What I wish was different

realizing how much work would be given to me if i asked. Breaking up all the videos is an important part.

Advice

1. The amount of help people provide in a healthy and communicative environment is high. 2. Having the mindset of continuous learning will push you farther into your career, they know you are an intern, ask as many questions as you want. 3. I started asking alot of staff how they got to EiserAmper and why they stay, it was good to learn how other people made their career in public accounting

PCS Tax Intern

June - August 2024 • Philadelphia, PA

What I liked

I really enjoyed their computer programs and applications, I though CCH is a very advanced computer software that assists me in the field of Tax. As well as the friendliness and caring office environment that they proudly promote.

What I wish was different

There wasn't really anything that I wanted to be different, maybe I wish I applied during the tax season, so I was a bit busier with work and always had something to do.

Advice

Reach out to as many people as possible when you're looking for work or just communicating to make more connections with co-workers and be able to put yourself out there.

Audit Intern

June - July 2024 • La Jolla, CA

What I liked

My colleagues at the La Jolla office location were extremely friendly and helpful. I experienced a very warm and welcoming environment. The firm has an amazing culture and frequently has networking and volunteering opportunities. The firm also puts on fun events like bingo days and baseballs games. it feels like they genuinely care about you at this firm. Would highly recommend this internship to anyone.

What I wish was different

I wish that the internship was a bit longer. The 8 weeks came and went. I also wish there was a way for me to have applied more of the mock audit training I did to the real client work. Most of the client work I did was work where I was trained on the spot, not so much pulling from the mock audits.

Advice

Pay attention to everything that is said when you are being trained and take notes when applicable. The training can be complex at times and you may forget many of the steps. Ask questions of course and try to get out of your comfort zone.

Tax Intern

June 2024 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

I liked that you have assigned connections at the very start of your internship, which are amazing people to help facilitate your transition into the role. There is also a company culture of getting to know the team you work with, so there is a large emphasis on networking and bonding internally which is a huge perk personally.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship had been longer. June 10-Aug 1 is a very quick amount of time.

Advice

Be present and take advantage of the opportunity! As the summer internship is super fast, my advice would be to make the most of it. This includes going in person as much as possible, setting up coffee chats and networking outings, and asking as many questions about the tasks you are working on as possible! EA is very patient with intern tasks as they understand this is new for many of us, so no question is a silly question!

Tax Intern

June - July 2024 • La Jolla, CA

What I liked

I liked a lot of things about this internship. First of all, the people at the office I worked at were very friendly and always willing to help whenever I had questions about a return or accounting in general. The office environment had a great balance of work and socializing, and was an ideal environment to spend many hours a day at. I also appreciate all the learning opportunities that were available. We learned a lot not only about accounting but also about organization and how to conduct yourself as a professional.

What I wish was different

If anything, I wish the internship was a bit longer as it was only 8 weeks.

Advice

EisnerAmper is a fantastic firm and worth applying to if you want to work in public accounting.
