Working at COA gave me great experience in the childcare field as an early education/special education major. I got to work with children hands-on everyday, as well as prepare lessons and strengthen my ability to communicate with parents and other childcare professionals.

What I liked
It was fun working with young children. It was a lot of work but I am glad I did it because it was a great experience for my future as a teacher. I worked with a variety of ages from infants to school age children.
What I wish was different
I wish as an assistant teacher I would be able to be more involved in lesson plans, curriculum,etc. but observing was great too.
Advice
Always keep a positive attitude and put in your best effort to put smiles on the children’s faces because it is very rewarding.
