I got to work on hands on projects for a globally renowned CPG company. My manager and I got along great and he is now one of my professional mentors. I gain knowledge and experience that goes beyond the classroom and I got to develop my own summer long intern project involving a social media analysis between Nestle Waters and our top competitors.
What I wish was different
Housing available for interns. I lived in my home in New York to minimize housing costs and drove around 3 hours back and forth to work everyday.
Advice
Do not be afraid to ask questions and to approach people who are "higher up" in the company. I had the CMO come and sit in on my final intern presentation and it was great way to open communication.
