What I liked

I liked working with kids and helping each one meet their personal goals. I also enjoyed getting to know each kid personally and it allowed me to have a life changing experience.

What I wish was different

I don't wish anything was different, I enjoyed every second of it.

Advice

Even though this job main seem daunting as it involves taking care of children with disabilities, the reward of seeing a smile on their face after they reach their goal is priceless.

What I liked

I loved all of the things I experienced and I also made a bunch of new friends.

What I wish was different

Honestly nothing.... there was great communication between the staff and I had the best time ever.

Advice

Be patient. You are working with special needs kids 24/7 for 7 weeks straight. All you can do is be patient with them even when they’re having a temper tantrum. Also, have fun and cherish the moments you have with the kids because you will be lucky if you see them after camp ends.

What I liked

Incredible job that allowed me to gain so much hands on experience working with children with disabilities. As a nursing student, I gained so much useful experience specifically with transfers, medications, and daily care. It's a 24/7 job and is incredibly intense but worth every minute. You form incredible relationships with campers and co-workers. It is the opportunity of a lifetime

Advice

Incredible experience for anyone interested in working with children. Specifically, those going into the health care field and those interested in working with children with physical disabilities.
