AT&T

AT&T Sale Representative

July - August 2019 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

Pay and skills to work with customers.

What I wish was different

Better management because if there was, I would have stayed.

Advice

I think overall, AT&T is a great place to work if you feel like you can do sales. It's hard, but rewarding. Just make sure the location you get is not understaffed because mine was and it made everything worse because the manager didn't help much.

Product Marketing Intern

January 2019 • Plano, TX

What I liked

From the beginning, I was treated as a full member of the team and given so much responsibility with my own projects. If you have the dedication and work ethic, you can achieve practically anything you want to. I've been able to learn so much about data science, AI, machine learning, augmented reality, and more, which is not what I expected from a marketing internship! The people are great, the work is really interesting, and it's been an overall fantastic experience.

Sales Representative

June - August 2019 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

I loved the community of people I worked with. They were people my age with similar interests but from different parts of the country.

What I wish was different

I wish I could’ve spent more time interacting with customers face to face.

Advice

If Sales is a “numbers game” of cold calling, then you have to embrace how much it’s going to suck from the very beginning. Shake off rejection and accept that it takes grinding through a lot of calls to generate leads.

B2B Sales Development Intern

June - August 2019 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

It was a great learning experience for my first sales internship! Great company that had a great work environment and made it a fun internship! The housing and included meals are a big perk too!

What I wish was different

The days got repetitive after a while of working there. Very individualized work and wish it was more collaborative.

Advice

If you want to go into sales, this role teaches you a lot, but it is very sales heavy and your days are very repetitive so be ready for that.

Account Executive

What I liked

Great culture! Had the ability to work with full timers as well as interns the entire summer.

What I wish was different

Nothing, I worked extremely hard this summer to prove that Central produces the best of the best.

Advice

Put your head down and start calling. Easiest way to make a sale is keep calling.

Software Engineering Intern

June - August 2019 • Middletown Township, NJ

What I liked

What I wish was different

Your experience will depend heavily (I cannot stress this enough) on the project/team that you are placed on. Based on this, interns may have an amazing or terrible 10 weeks. Furthermore, you don't find out about any assignment details until the first day of the job. AT&T, as a company, is unable to forecast what types of projects they will need interns on months in advance.

Strategic Alliances Intern

June - August 2018 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

My co-worker's were incredibly helpful and welcoming. They so kindly threw me a birthday party and a going away party. I felt valued and an important member of the team! More than that, I was also challenged and pushed to new heights being given the opportunity to work on a new product's go to market plan. This experience was transformational and grew my capabilities as a team member, a leader, and a innovator.

What I wish was different

Maybe not having to take the bus everyday, but I wouldn't change much about the actual internship experience

Advice

Ask lots of questions, all the time. You can gain so much experience and so many opportunities simply in being bold enough to ask questions.
