Digital Media Associate

GableStage Theatre Company Full-Time Digital Media Associate

The Digital Media Associate is responsible for managing and producing digital content across multiple platforms to deepen audience engagement, increase revenue, and elevate the theatre’s brand identity in collaboration with all departments. The ideal candidate combines creative storytelling skills with digital fluency, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of audience behavior and platform trends.

In addition to day-to-day operations and responsibilities, the Digital Media Associate must be present at all opening nights, special events and public programming both on-site and off-site. This role will involve working closely with heads of all departments to ensure smooth execution of digital marketing initiatives.

Full-time, in-person position. 
 

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Management

  • Produce and edit digital content for trailers, artist interviews, educational outreach, and promotional campaigns
  • Create compelling multimedia assets for web, email, and social media platforms
  • Maintain and regularly update website content to ensure accuracy, brand consistency, and user-friendliness
  • Lead weekly marketing meetings, attend weekly staff meeting, and other meetings as required
  • Develop and manage content calendars in collaboration with internal teams 
  • Support artistic and development teams with content for fundraising, donor stewardship, and program announcements

Social Media & Email Campaigns

  • Manage daily operations of social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, etc.), including scheduling, posting, and community engagement
  • Track and analyze engagement metrics to improve reach and performance
  • Contribute to the development of social media strategies based on trends and institutional goals
  • Design and distribute email campaigns using platforms like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar
  • Update and maintain digital mailing lists to ensure accurate segmentation and outreach

Video & Digital Storytelling

  • Film, edit, and package video content for promotional, educational, and archival purposes
  • Maintain consistent brand tone and style across all digital assets
  • Collaborate with internal teams to capture behind-the-scenes content, interviews, and audience experiences

Digital Archiving & Asset Management

  • Oversee the organization and digital preservation of 27 seasons of programming
  • Ensure assets are properly labeled, stored, and accessible in a searchable database
  • Collaborate with staff to catalog historical media, photos, video, and documentation

Digital Advertising & Analytics

  • Support digital advertising campaigns across platforms such as Meta Ads and Google Ads
  • Monitor and report on digital performance metrics (web traffic, ad results, social media engagement)
  • Track ticket sales and ad metrics relevant to individual shows, promotions, and season subscriptions
  • Use data insights to inform and adjust strategies

 

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in digital content creation, marketing, or communications
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva, video editing tools, and Google Suite
  • Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress or Squarespace)
  • Familiarity with email platforms (Constant Contact, Mailchimp, or Campaign Monitor)
  • Working knowledge of social media analytics and scheduling tools (e.g., Loomly, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite)
  • Strong writing, editing, and creative storytelling skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, team player
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and ability to prioritize and adapt
  • Passion for the arts and theatre
