About Little Sprouts Summer Camp

Little Sprouts Summer Camp provides a one-of-a-kind experience for children ages 6 -11, blending cultural arts, technology, and sciences in a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced camp director to lead our summer program. The Camp Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, ensuring the safety, engagement, and enjoyment of our campers and staff. This leadership role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively manage staff, develop programs, and foster an inclusive environment that promotes personal growth and teamwork among campers. The Camp Director will work closely with educational institutions and community organizations to enhance the camp's offerings and engage students in meaningful activities.

Important: Candidates must meet ALL minimum qualifications to be considered. 

Minimum Qualifications (Do Not Apply if You Do Not Meet These Requirements)

Experience: Minimum 3 years in a leadership role managing a summer camp or youth program.
Certifications: Must have valid CPR & First Aid certifications (or obtain before the start date).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, child development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and staff supervision skills.
Availability: Must be available full-time for the entire summer session, plus 2 weeks prior for planning.
Background Check: Candidates must pass a mandatory background check before hiring.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management: Oversee camp operations, including scheduling, programming, and safety compliance.
  • Staff Oversight: Recruit, train, and supervise camp counselors and support staff.
  • Camper Experience: Ensure a fun, inclusive, and structured camp environment.
  • Safety & Risk Management: Implement and enforce all safety and emergency procedures.
  • Budget & Operations: Manage camp finances, supplies, and logistics.
  • Parent & Community Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians.

Bonus Qualifications (Preferred but Not Required)

Experience developing innovative camp curriculums in arts, technology, or science.
Previous experience in nonprofit or educational youth programs.
Ability to fundraise or secure sponsorships for camp programs.
