Recreation Unlimited is a nonprofit organization that provides year-round programs for individuals with disabilities and health concerns. Program Leaders are responsible for preparing, facilitating, and cleaning up activities, supporting camper engagement and safety, and helping create a memorable, empowering camp experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up, lead, and clean up assigned programs and activities
Support campers in recreation areas and personal care as needed
Ensure safety of campers and staff during activities
Provide program areas with water, sunscreen, bug spray, and more
Build relationships with campers and lead with positivity and encouragement
Collaborate with counselors and other staff to create unforgettable experiences
Document camper interactions as needed
Adhere to all Recreation Unlimited policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred, but we train!)
Experience working with individuals with disabilities
CPR/First Aid certification
Lifeguard, climbing, or team-building experience (training provided)
Weekend availability during the school year and/or 8-week summer commitment
Must demonstrate:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Sound judgment and decision-making ability
• Initiative, reliability, and adaptability
• A sense of humor and compassion
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to perform physical duties and work extended hours as needed
Effectively support camper care, behavior, and communication
Identify/respond to environmental and safety concerns
PAY & BENEFITS
Weekend Pay: $240/weekend (Friday 4:00PM–Sunday 11:30AM)
• FREE room and board included
Summer Pay: $520/week (Monday 8:00AM–Friday 12:00PM or 5:00PM)
• Weekends off + FREE room and board
