
Associate Pastor for Youth and Student Ministries
Overview:
In conjunction with the Senior Pastor and church staff, the Associate Pastor for Youth and Student Ministries is tasked with overseeing, stewarding, and leading the church’s weekly ministry to the youth and students entrusted to him by God.
As a full-time part of the pastoral staff, his ministry will also include involvement in various pastoral roles as he assists the Senior Pastor in the teaching, care, and administration of Wayside Chapel. In addition, he will participate in the ministry of Wayside Christian School by teaching in a Bible class and helping with the spiritual development of the student body.
Calling:
This is a pastoral staff position, so the applicant must have a compelling desire and call to serve as a shepherd of God’s people under the leadership of Jesus, the Chief Shepherd. This call to vocational ministry should be validated by the local church that the applicant is currently serving (staff or layman) and verified by the leadership of that church.
Education:
The applicant would preferably possess an undergraduate or graduate degree from a Bible college, Christian liberal arts college, or Seminary in Theology, Christian Education, Youth Ministry, Young Adult Ministry, or similar.
Experience:
The applicant should have sufficient experience working within the local church, teaching/preaching, and have a special aptitude to effectively work with youth and students. Position is open to current ministry leaders or those just finishing college or seminary. All applicants must be presently active in the ministry of their local church.
Compensation Package:
$46,000 base salary plus monthly medical assistance and a retirement contribution.
