Events and Hospitality Assistant

START DATE: BEGINNING OF AUGUST

The Events and Hospitality Assistant is an important part of the Huskers Athletic Fund team. This position will serve as support of premium seating areas on Husker gamedays as well as help execute events for the Huskers Athletic Fund Donor Experience team. This position begins at the beginning of August for training and extends to the Spring semester for events. This position will require an average of 7-20 hours a week during the fall and winter sports season, with hours fluctuating based on events and games.  

 

Duties:

  • Support the Huskers Athletic Fund with the opening and closing of the premium areas at football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling and gymnastics
  • Greet premium guests on game days and directional help
  • Assist donor experience team with ancillary tasks that come up on a gameday
  • Member of the team that executes all unreasonable hospitality to create memories for every guest in the premium spaces on game days
  • Part of the events execution team for donor events as well as other athletic events outside of game day
    • Examples include large team reunions, The Champions Benefit, and Nebraska Leadership Society weekend
  • Ensure all game day policies and procedures are being upheld
  • Responsible for providing high-level customer service
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance
  • Other duties as assigned

 

When & Where:

  • All home games for football are required
    • Football gamedays begin 3+ hours prior to kickoff and end once all post-game duties and debriefs are complete
  • Required to work volleyball, Men's and Women's basketball, wrestling and Women's gymnastics. Schedules are created ahead of the start of each season and based on availability, so you will not have to work every game
  • Flexible office schedule Monday-Friday for gameday preparation as needed

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Fall/Winter availability is required
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Highly motivated, self-motivated, self-sufficient, and able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Great verbal communication skills
  • Desire to deliver premium customer service to high-level donors
  • Thirst to learn about the events and hospitality industry
  • Ability to keep information private and confidential
  • Willingness to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Hospitality, event management or customer service experience recommended

September 20 (2:30pm) - Home Game v. Michigan 

October 4 - Home Game v. Michigan State

October 25 - Home Game v. Northwestern

November 1 - Home Game v. USC

November 28 - Home Game v. Iowa
