Responsibilities:

Our primary technology internship opportunities are in the bustling town of Pearl River, NY, with potential openings at our Waterford, NY site as well. Each location offers a hands-on experience in a collaborative, supportive team environment that values independence and creativity - perfect for launching your career in Research & Technology.

What you will do:

As a Research Intern, your primary focus will be to support the development, enhancement, or performance investigation of Momentive products. From formulation to new product development, analytical chemistry to quality control, your impact will reach across the site and impact a number of industries worldwide. Curious what you might work on? Below are some of the teams our interns have joined as they launched their career:

  • Beauty & Personal Care: Develop and test personal care formulations in a lab, collaborate with various business functions, and analyze data to understand the performance of different raw materials.
  • Coatings & Adhesives: Develop and test new coating ingredients, analyze their performance, and present your findings to the technology team.
  • Aerospace & Electronic Materials: Formulate silicones for aerospace applications, design and test new formulations, and present your findings to the aerospace technology team.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related technical field.

Program Requirements:

  • The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.
  • The candidate is expected to be available to work in person 40 hours a week for 10-12 weeks between May and August.
