Long-Term Care Ombudsman Internship
Long-Term Care Ombudsman Internship for students needing supervised practicum or field experience working with older adults. We will work with your schedule and program requirements. Stipend available to qualified candidates.
Responsibilities as assigned by Ombudsman Mentor include:Â
- Regular advocacy visits to nursing homes and assisted living communities
- Assisting in complaint handling, information gathering, and follow-up according to LTCOP policy and procedure
- Attending resident and family council meetings, with residents’ permission
- Educating residents and their families about Long Term Care Ombudsman Program services and supports
Requirements:
- Interest in working with and advocating for the older adults and disabled population
- Completion of Ombudsman Associate Certification Training
- Over 18 years of age
- Have own means of transportation to perform duties
- Agree to a background check through resources determined by the Agency
