Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- The Scientist I, Manufacturing Sciences, will be responsible for the synthesis of functionalized resins used in columns.
- Use manufacturing protocols to accurately synthesize raw and functionalized resins for column production.
- Address and report problems in daily manufacturing and propose effective countermeasures.
- Communicate effectively with other production staff regarding delays, issues in production, etc.
- Interact efficiently in a cross functional setting between several departments.
- Collaborate in PPI initiatives to improve overall quality and yields of various synthesized resins.
- Participate in 5S, JDI, and Safety initiatives.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry.
- 0-1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Direct experience with polymer chemistry
- Experience with chromatography software and HPLC/UPLC preferred
- Ability to perform routine analysis on size distribution and surface area of resins
- Solid understanding of manufacturing environments and standard chemistry techniques and principles
- Familiarity working with standard software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Familiarity with chromatography systems
