About the Administrative Fellowship

Over the past 50+ years, Ochsner’s Administrative Fellowship Program provides extensive training, project work, and rotational opportunities throughout our integrated healthcare system. We understand the value of the mentoring experience and prioritize developing diverse talented individuals to assist in reaching their career goals. Our program is designed to help develop and guide top graduate students into identifying their true potential in healthcare leadership. This well-established training program has been tailored to meet the learning needs of each fellow to provide a rich and successful experience. The fellowship program offers rotations through finance, human resource, supply chain, and revenue cycle, while providing developmental training:

  • system-wide exposure to the major functional areas within Ochsner
  • Ochsner Learning Institute - classroom & virtual professional development learning
  • Six Sigma certification
  • executive shadowing and senior leadership meetings
  • one-on-one mentoring
  • a wide range of intensive project work
  • fellow driven journal club meetings and presentations to senior executives

The 18-month rotational fellowship program is a paid full-time position with available benefits package, including 18 vacation days-accrued and 8 paid holidays. Ochsner may offer fellowship opportunities in different regions and may require candidate(s) to travel or relocate.
 

The program utilizes the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) competencies to help guide program content and ensure a successful learning application.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have completed one of the following degrees from an accredited graduate program:

  • Master of Healthcare Administration
  • Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Public Health
  • Master in related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Application deadline Aug. 27 at 5pm for 2026 fellowship class.

Administrative Fellowship – open to all MHA, MPH, MBA, MHSA or healthcare related master’s degree from an accredited program
