
Accountant/Fiscal Analyst
Seeking a high energy and customer focus driven candidate to perform administrative functions for the Treasury Management division withing the State Treasurer’s Office.
- Researches and processes inquiries on paid, cancelled, outstanding and replacement checks. Performs all stop payments and void/replacements. Performs administrative duties for the Check Distribution area within Treasury Management Division.
- Researches agency requests to determine whether a check is outstanding or paid. Processes various types of cleared check copy requests by researching paid date records.
- Provides required documentation for processing forgery claims. Effectively communicates with state agencies regarding status of types of checks and proper procedures for stop payments, forgery, cancellations and replacements.
- Researches vendor payments at request of vendor agency.
- Manages administrative responsibilities for Deputy to include email management, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements and preparing documents for meetings.
- Ability to manage daily deadlines and coordinate back-ups when not available
- Quickly identifies and assists individuals with needs in a customer focused manner.
- Excels in performing a broad variety of administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment that supports high performance, exceptional work product, accountability and collaboration.
- Leads work products to completion, reviews and edits complex documents, performs research, creates and maintains tracking documents, and organizes and maintains paper and electronic files.
- Assists with the preparation for special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
Agency Minimum Qualifications*:
A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Must be able to research items in a timely manner. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally.
*Candidates must specifically meet the Agency Minimum Requirements or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be considered for this position.

Ability to coordinate diverse administrative functions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Incumbent must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to plan and organize effectively. Ability to exercise sound judgment and confidentiality at all times.

Must be able to safely lift and carry files, books and reports weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for intermittent periods of time. Must be able to reach, bend, and twist at the waist to perform filing, desk work, and operate general office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are highly preferred. Beneficial to have banking or State SCEIS experience.
