Social Media Intern

Position Title: Social Media Intern (Unpaid-Free Career Coaching!)

Location: Remote 

Schedule and Hours: This position is anticipated to involve about 5-10 hours per week of work. There are some weekly posting deadlines, but otherwise you can work whenever it works for you!

Duration: Position is initially set to run through August 15th, 2025 with the possibility to extend the position for a top-performing candidate.

Reports to: Founder, Education and Career Coach at Beyond Gifted Services

Position Overview:
Beyond Gifted Services is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Intern to support our social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and potentially Substack. This internship will provide valuable experience in social media management, content creation, and branding for a growing business in the career coaching and educational consulting industry. The intern will have the opportunity to work closely with the founder, Emmaly Perks, M.Ed., in gaining firsthand insight into the field of career coaching for gifted and neurocomplex individuals. The intern will also receive weekly career coaching sessions from Emmaly.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in creating, scheduling, and posting content for Instagram and LinkedIn to align with the company's branding, values, and target audience (3 posts per week).

Support the development of creative content (images, carousels, captions) for social media that communicates the mission of Beyond Gifted Services and engages followers.

Potential involvement with Substack, contributing to the content strategy and writing weekly notes or copy editing posts (dependent upon candidate's interest and ability).

Monitor social media engagement and track performance metrics to assess the success of campaigns and target optimal posting strategies.

Provide assistance with community engagement by responding to messages, comments, and participating in relevant conversations.

Collaborate with the founder to brainstorm ideas for upcoming social media campaigns and content series.

Stay up-to-date with trends in social media marketing, especially as they pertain to the coaching and education sectors.

Qualifications:

Current student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Social Media, or a related field.

Basic understanding of social media platforms, particularly Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Creativity and a passion for content creation.

Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Graphic design skills in Canva or similar platform.

Interest in the fields of education, coaching, and/or giftedness is not required, but is a plus.
