Box Office Manager/Administrative Associate

The Baton Rouge Symphony has an immediate opening and seeks a qualified individual to serve as the Box Office Manager/Administrative Associate. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Patron Engagement, but working within the framework of an office-wide collaborative team, the position calls for a flexible and adaptable individual with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL EXHIBIT THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills
    • The ability to exercise independent judgment when helping patrons with varying needs
    • Excellent time management skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
    • Preferred: prior experience with customer service
    • Preferred: Experience in various software applications, such as AudienceView Professional and Intuit QuickBooks

 

Box Office Management

  • Answer incoming telephone calls promptly, addressing patron and donor concerns
  • Utilize AudienceView ticketing software
  • Run Box Office during events
  • Complete sales reports, tracking spreadsheets, and mailing lists
  • Maintain knowledge of the current season, events, and guest artists
  • Maintain the integrity of the Symphony’s Patron database
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Administrative

  • Serve as liaison to the Board of Directors, maintaining all board member logistics
  • Maintain internal calendars for staff
  • Facilitate all staff meeting needs, taking notes when needed
  • Utilize Intuit QuickBooks for financial data entry
  • Make bank deposits weekly
  • Submit state sales tax reporting forms
  • Add upcoming events to local community calendars, like 225, BRProud, WBRZ, Advocate
  • Supervise and manage all BRSO volunteers, including board members, Les Jeunes Amies, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Work Environment and Requirements

  • Will be required to work some evenings/weekends, and travel to off-site meeting locations
  • Must be able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical accommodations possible for applicants with limited mobility.

 

Expected salary range for this position is $38,000 - $41,000, based on skills and experience.
