Job Summary
Designs, develops, and delivers employee training and development programs that enable employees to successfully serve in their current roles, and prepare for future career opportunities. Supports training and strategic initiatives across the organization.
Essential Job Functions
In conjunction with HR leadership, identifies, develops, and delivers training programs that promote workplace competencies aligned to the organization’s values, supports effective management and leadership skills, and addresses performance gaps. Utilizes various forms and formats of program delivery, including group discussion, lecture, simulations, virtual delivery, and videos. Administers communications, scheduling, and follow-up related to training. Maintains records of training and development activities and attendance. Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in relevant areas of content and training and development methods. Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback. Supports HR training team with coordination and delivery of service across the organization. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Necessary to the Work
Knowledge of training processes and methods; knowledge of instructional design methods; knowledge of learner diversity and inclusion; knowledge of training content related to interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diversity, equity and inclusion, communication skills, management and leadership topics, coaching, providing feedback, and other related topics; skill with group facilitation; skill in LMS administration; skill in operating a PC and associated Microsoft software (eg. Microsoft Office Suite); skill in oral and written communication; skill in designing and delivering training programs to a diverse workforce; skill with implementing eLearning training programs; skill in operating a variety of digital devices (Laptop, tablets, smart phones, etc.); ability to plan and organize work effectively; ability to work within a collaborative team environment; ability to learn MSD policies and regulatory obligations; ability to adapt to changing work environment; ability to exercise judgment and discretion; ability to resolve problems; ability to maintain accurate and confidential records/information; ability to be courteous and helpful under pressure.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor degree in education, communication, learning and development or a related field; five or more years of related training development and delivery experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have safe work and driving habits.
