HR Manager

HR Manager / Firm Administrator - full-time, hybrid remote position

Description:

Uses skills as a seasoned and experienced administrative operations professional to manage, plan and administer the human resources related operations and client liaison functions of a small law firm.  Performs short and long-term planning for the organization.  Will supervise estimated 10 staff members. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Demonstrates a good temperament for addressing client concerns and acting as a client coordinator.

Responsible for broad scope of Staff, with HR-related actions and processes. Administers and reviews workflows for smooth operations as it relates to the firm’s administrative functions with emphasis on HR operations for the staff. This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, administering, recruitment, onboarding, renewals, and separation processes in consultation and collaboration with managing partner and firm administrator.

Works with Billing Department on collections and addressing client concerns when raised. May also act as point of intake for potential new clients.  Serves as a key administrative and HR resource for all staff, and leadership. This position holds responsibility for oversight and coordination of any special HR and Administrative initiatives. The right candidate uses high level of skills and knowledge of HR policies and programs to address strategic personnel issues, including contract interpretation, typically referring grievances, Staff/compliant investigations and other high level sensitive matters for all staff. The individual handles all of the above tasks with tact, diplomacy, professionalism and with utmost confidentiality.

The right candidate will directly supervise the work of the admin support staff, paralegal and attorney staff.  Provides oversight and guidance to ensure a successful collaborative partnership between the support staff and legal professionals. Ensures processes are consistent with policy and implemented uniformly across all employees.  Makes recommendations for improvements to streamline activities, maximizing quality, execution and productivity. Participates in special projects, and strategic planning through collaboration with owner(s).

The final salary and offer components are arrived at upon specific experience and background of the successful candidate. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 (Annual Rate), Sick and Vacation/PTO time, Medical Benefits, Bonus potential, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and three years experience with at least one year supervisory/lead experience or equivalent experience / training in a similar leadership position.
  • Working knowledge of the organization's processes and procedures, rules and regulations, with emphasis on HR-related policy, processes and workflows.
  • Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, tact, and counseling to effectively motivate others.
  • Skills to evaluate issues and identify resolutions.
  • Strong service orientation with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated skills in employee supervision.
  • Superb skills in short term/long term planning, analysis and problem-solving and customer service.
  • Ability to work with owner(s) on confidential initiatives, projects and other business that requires trust and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage the flow and function of the administrative academic needs of those functions assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR Certification, Project Management Certification, 
  • Knowledge of common computer application programs (Microsoft Suite)
