Intern, Corporate Legal
The Oklahoma City Thunder is seeking a Legal Intern to join our Corporate Legal team to assist in legal and business affairs for all day-to-day activities. This role is open to students who are currently enrolled in a local Oklahoma City ABA-accredited law school.
Fall internships begin August 25, 2025. Our internship program provides practical experience in a professional environment, along with optional activities like resume reviews, development workshops, and occasional events designed to enhance the overall experience. We also offer perks such as paid downtown parking and tickets to a home game during the season!
In this role you will:
- Assist the legal department on a broad range of legal matters for the Thunder, including commercial transactions, intellectual property, labor and employment, sweepstakes and contests, and litigation management.
- Under the supervision of counsel, assist with drafting, reviewing, revising, and negotiating commercial agreements, including sponsorship agreements, services agreements, and other general contracts.
- Perform general research on ongoing legal issues related to data privacy, copyright, employment law, state and local regulations, and various other matters as needed.
- Attend meetings as requested.
- Assist with other general business and legal affairs projects as requested.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Must be a 2L or 3L. Required courses: Contracts.
- Must earn academic credit for the legal internship with the Thunder.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Additional details:
This is an in-person internship, reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Legal. The work schedule requires 20-29 hours per week during office hours. The primary work location will be the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for occasional local travel. This internship does not provide housing or transportation. This internship position does not guarantee a full-time position with the Thunder upon completion.
