
Social Media + Podcast Production Intern
Location: majority remote, occasional in-person pending project/event (greater NYC area required)

Perfume Room is an award-winning podcast that makes the world of perfume feel fresh, entertaining, and accessible. Each episode brings insider access to and never-before-told-stories from the biggest names in fragrance: from legendary perfumers and indie disruptors to celebrity scent obsessives.
Position Overview: Perfume Room is looking for a creative, self-starting, social media-savvy summer intern to support podcast production, management, and content creation. This is a paid, part-time position (~10 hours/week), with flexible scheduling. You’ll be helping bring weekly podcast episodes to life, from research to promotion, and supporting broader brand growth initiatives (with optional opportunities to get involved in one-off and long-term creative projects based on your interests.) If you love scent and storytelling, have a pulse on what and who’s trending, and want to learn more about both podcast production and the BTS of the industry, this is the perfect internship for you!
This internship is ~10 hours week/$18 hour.
Responsibilities:
Podcast production support:
- Scheduling + calendar support
- Manage RSS host episode assets, setting DAI markers, and maintaining episode archives
- Maintain and assist with guest and sponsor pitch lists
- Coordinate asset requests from guests (photos, bios, brand materials)
- Help with episode recaps + ShopMy pages
Social Media + Content Creation
- Develop and execute a strategic weekly episodic content calendar
- Create IG social promo assets for each episode (with Canva template)
- Identify clippable and buzzy moments from full length episodes
- Create/edit shortform and longform video clips (experience w/ Adobe Suite, CapCut or other editing tool software) from full-length video episodes
- Create/add Perfume Room intro/outro graphics to full length videos + light editing
Optional Creative Projects (pending interest + skills)
- Help design and launch online merch
- Brand refresh/redesign
- Perfume Room website refresh
- Help plan Perfume Room live events
- Help spearhead and conduct 2025 Perfume Room listener survey
Ideal Candidate:
- Proficient with design and editing tools (Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, Pixelcut, etc.)
- Eye for design
- Has own computer and can access/use above programs from it
- Is based in or near NY for an occasional in-person meeting or event
- Experience tracking social media analytics
- Good with deadlines, managing time, and delivering assets accordingly
- Organized, communicative, and comfortable working independently
- Professionalism and discretion around sensitive guest or podcast info
- Strong interest in the fragrance industry plugged in to who’s who and what’s what
- Interest in and/or knowledge of podcasting landscape
- Knowledge of Perfume Room tone and ability to write in it/excellent writing and communication skills
