Program Coordinator 

RSVP, Seneca, Huron, Wyandot 

Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week 

$38,000/Year 

Schedule:   Determined on case by case basis  

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Recruits, trains, and places volunteers with local agencies. Oversees program operations in assigned counties.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Oversees RSVP operations in assigned local office.

2. Recruits, enrolls and trains volunteers while ensuring all proper documentation is obtained; conducts regular volunteer gathering events

3. Provides appropriate volunteer recognition throughout the year (i.e. birthdays, important life events) and assists with the planning and implementation of annual Senior Corps recognition event in local county.

4. Establishes volunteer stations and ensures stations comply with grant performance measurements as needed. 

5. Maintains local volunteer, station and program files and provides central office with required paperwork.

6. Recruits, trains and directs activities of local Advisory Council members with assistance from other Senior Corps staff as delegated 

7. Encourages members to participate in National Days of Service (ex: MLK, Patriot Day) and promotes national service/National Days of Service in the local community

8. Identifies and coordinates new development campaigns to insure adequate funds for program implementation; Maintains paperwork for funding sources as needed; Enters data and extracts reports from a variety of program databases for local, state and federal grant reports as needed; Assists Director with reports as needed.

9. Maintains petty cash and local program budget; prepares check requests as needed 

10. Promotes the program's mission and needs and recognizes member contributions to both internal and external audiences.

11. Participates in sponsor in-services 

12. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and education/certification/registry requirements.

13. Assist with maintaining a safe work environment.

14. Provides back-up coverage to other counties as needed.

15. Intermittent travel throughout local county and state as needed

16. Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to interact with others, specifically senior population.

2. Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including percentages and averages with a calculator.

3. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

4. Ability to read and understand procedures, manuals, correspondence and general text.

5. Ability to maintain discretion with confidential data.

6. Valid Ohio Driver’s License, reliable transportation and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability

7. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation and FBI). 

 

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two years experience in office and/or volunteer management.  
 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  Customer service experience either through employment or volunteer services. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel. 
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel within and outside of assigned counties.
