TITLE: Partnership Intern
REPORTS TO: Director of Partnerships
LOCATION: Remote + NYC/DC tristate area strongly preferred
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Intern
STIPEND: $16.50/hr (15 hours/week cap)
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a is seeking a summer intern to support the greater success of the institutional fundraising team while also providing limited cross-team assistance for the Leadership Giving (LG) team. This role offers broad exposure to humanitarian fundraising and a deeper understanding of working at an NGO focused on international health and women’s rights.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Institutional Prospecting: Analyze sector trends and identify possible institutional prospects within the corporate and family foundation space
- Building Collateral: In coordination with the Director of Partnerships and Leadership Giving team, build timely and engaging documents for external meetings and partners (pitch decks, one-pagers, proposals, etc.)
- Donor Events: Facilitate seamless donor communication and track responses throughout the event process while assisting with logistics, including invitations (via Paperless Post), RSVP tracking, material preparation, and post-event follow-ups.
- Fundraising Operations: Maintain accurate records of fundraising engagements in USA for UNFPA’s CRM, Raiser’s Edge.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and adapt to shifting priorities, with a proactive approach to problem solving and completing tasks.
- Experience in research, either through academic coursework or projects, with a focus on prospect research for individual and institutional donors. This could include conducting background research, analyzing trends, or identifying potential funding opportunities.
- Experience or interest in event coordination preferred, with ability to manage logistics and communicate effectively with staff, donors, and partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), with knowledge of Canva or other design tools.
- Familiarity with a donor management system, such as Raiser’s Edge, though not required.
- Strong affinity with UNFPA’s mission and commitment to global reproductive health and rights.
