Business marketing advisor/Contract sales representative

We’re looking for someone to join our team who is excited to connect with businesses and organizations to help them grow, thank current customers, and stay top of mind. Qualified candidates will be self-driven, curious and enthusiastic. 

Each team member works from home but is expected to go out into the Minneapolis and St. Paul community to meet face-to-face with clients and attend local events to network. Some of the sales work can be done via email and phone, as well. We offer a sales training session to begin, and regular training opportunities.

We have full and part-time positions available; paid on commission. 

Our three newspapers (Southwest Connector, Longfellow Nokomis Messenger, and Midway Como Frogtown Monitor) are well-respected and valued in our neighborhoods, and there is opportunity for growth. Find your place in the community.

DETAILS:

  • Advise clients on marketing strategies that will help their businesses and organizations;
  • Create marketing plans that address the needs of individual clients across print and digital;
  • Secure new advertising contracts and maintaining advertising print and online renewals for our three neighborhood newspapers and cross sell into other TMC Publications CO publications;
  • Create advertising campaigns and drafting advertising copy (including partner inserts) in consultation with the advertiser;
  • Help create Special Sections calendar and identify new areas for Special Sections growth;
  • Complete and submit advertising sales contracts, insertion orders, and entering pertinent production and billing information for every advertisement sold by the Contract Sales Representative into the TMC Publications Customer Relations Management (CRM) system. The CRM is also to be used to protect leads generated by the Contract Sales Representative and any other advertising representative working for TMC Publications;
  • Report all sales and contracts;
  • Keep track of Accounts Receivables;
  • Review PDF of the ad layout for the issue and check it against the ads ordered in the CRM;
  • Other responsibilities related to sales.
