About Us

At Eager Enrichment, we've been inspiring young minds since 2008 through engaging after-school programs. Our Eager Engineers program brings art to life for thousands of elementary students with exciting, hands-on projects including building with Legos, Knex, and Blocks.

If you're passionate about both Legos, STEM, and working with children, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! Pay is $35 per class, and $20 an hour for training and staff meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Lead engaging STEM classes for elementary students (Grades 1-5) in the Gahanna-Jefferson Schools. You'll use Eager Enrichment's "no-fail" teaching approach, helping students understand that making mistakes is part of the learning process.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive and well-organized learning environment for up to 20 students. Promote respectful behavior and guide students through structured, supportive lessons.
  • Communication: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Accurately track attendance and feel confident using apps for scheduling and parent/staff communication.

Requirements:

  • Availability: Must be available Monday-Thursday afternoons during the school year, starting in September. Classes are one hour each day with no weekend or holiday work (e.g., Spring Break, Thanksgiving).
  • Schedule & Commitment: Arrival at the school is required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 2:30pm. This position includes four one-hour classes per week. If you're seeking more than 4 hours per week, this role may not be a fit.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children (Grades 1-5) is preferred, but a strong desire to work with elementary-age students is essential.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 40 pounds for a short period of time (need be able to move our blocs container to the dolly we provide to from your car)
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable using mobile apps for communication and scheduling.
  • Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from school sites.
  • Background Check: Willingness to complete a background check (paid for by us).
  • Age Requirement: Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
