Real Estate Development Intern

Position Overview: 

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to support our real estate development and construction teams. This internship is ideal for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in real estate analytics, entitlements/permitting, project coordination and construction management. You’ll be exposed to all phases of the development process from deal underwriting to construction management and work directly with professionals across disciplines.

 What You'll Do: 

Real Estate Development Support (50%) 

• Assist with market research, including rent comps, sales comps, demographic trends, and zoning summaries. 

• Help assist in preparing site memorandums for ECW’s Real Estate Board with greenfield and acquisitions  

• Aid in compiling and organize data for due diligence, including reviewing site plans, reports, and coordinating consultant construction drawings. 

• Research planning and permitting processes in target jurisdictions. 

• Financial tracking and coordination with finance team 

• Cross functional collaboration with marketing and operations for site planning Construction Management Support (50%) 

• Help track project timelines, budgets, and milestone updates. 

• Attend site visits and construction meetings  

• Organize project files, drawings, and documentation (e.g., permits, submittals, RFIs). 

• Support communication with contractors, consultants, and internal teams. 

• Assist with monitoring construction progress through reports and photo documentation.

 What We're Looking For: 

• Currently pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related field. 

• Strong interest in real estate development and/or construction. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to tools like, Arcgis, Smartsheet, ESRI or Procore is a plus. 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

• Clear communicator and team player with a proactive attitude. 

• Ability to manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
