
Elementary School Dean of Students
Lake Chelan School District has an opening for a full time Elementary School Dean of Students at Morgen Owings Elementary School starting the 2025-26 school year.
This position will report to the Elementary School Principal. The salary range is $55,573 to $104,746 depending on experience.
Basic Functions: The Dean of Students serves as a leader of school culture focusing on student conduct and attendance in order to ensure a positive and safe school climate through PBIS, restorative practices, discipline, and attendance. This role will attend IEP meetings as the LEA representative, meet monthly with the classified student supervisory staff to collaboratively problem-solve, will be responsible for classified staff annual reviews, oversee assessment coordination, and other duties as assigned.
Professional Qualifications and Essential Skills:
- Demonstrated excellent intrapersonal skills, organizational abilities, judgment, discretion, problem solving skills, and initiative; human relations skills including tact, diplomacy, humor, flexibility and confidentiality
- Knowledge of current school discipline and attendance best practice and OSPI regulations
- Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and district legal requirements
- Experience in student supervision during non-classroom times including but not exclusive to: before school, passing periods, lunch, after school, and extra-curricular events
- Experience providing leadership with student discipline and attendance situations, monitoring student attendance, meeting with students and parents/guardians, and developing attendance contracts.
- Experience communicating with students, staff, parents, and community
- Active WA state teaching certificate required
- WA state administrative certificate is preferred but not required
- Multi-lingual candidates encouraged to apply
