***This is an on-site internship, all applicants should be able to reliably commute to our office in Jacksonville, FL. ***

Internship Description

On-site paid college internship opportunity for senior-level students pursuing a degree in security, emergency management, international affairs, intelligence, or related studies. The internship will require students to:

  • Monitor and analyze Open-Source Intelligence for safety & security issues such as terrorism, crime, civil unrest, natural disasters, etc.
  • Research and write accurate safety and security descriptions for a designated area.
  • Notify appropriate stakeholders of security-related incidents.
  • Contribute to the operational planning cycle.
  • Provide daily briefings on major security trends and forecasts.

Objectives of the Internship

The goal of the internship in Global Incident Management is to provide students with practical experience in incident management and open-source intelligence. This will enable students to apply theoretical knowledge from classroom study to real-world situations. The objectives are:

  • Develop the student’s communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Enhance the student’s information research and intelligence writing skills.
  • Provide students with experience in organizational business resilience.
  • Enable students to obtain an insider’s perspective of the structure and operation of a complex organization.
  • Enable students to develop competencies in international studies and emergency management.
  • Provide the students with an opportunity to work in a team-focused environment.

Internship Requirements

  • To be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree in security, emergency management, international affairs, intelligence, or related major.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Excellent writing skills in English; additional languages considered as an advantage
  • Knowledge of current international affairs - including security, political and economic issues
  • Ability to work on-site in Jacksonville, Fl
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good computer skills with the ability to learn new programs quickly

Internship Schedule

The interns must dedicate a minimum of 16-24 hours of on-site activities per week for 8-12 weeks. 

  • Response Coordinator Training-2 weeks (classroom style)
  • Incident Monitoring/Hotline protocols -2 weeks
  • Information Research and Report Writing – 2 weeks
  • Persistent Threat Monitoring-2 weeks
